Race ReportsTexas State Championship RecapDesoto Texas, home of the ABA Supernationals and the Texas State Championship finals. The weather was perfect, hot and not a cloud in the sky. The arena was buzzing with anticipation as for the time has come to crown some new champions. The teams area all set up and riders are ready to go! All of the Texas Young Guns are here, primed and pumped and ready to take on all comers. Coach Randy and Team Manager Mark have each and everyone of the riders with their confidence shinning and put on the track. Motos are posted quick! This is the size of a mini national, 122 motos! Our girls showed up in force. Vallen Tupper continues her dominance in 7 girl. She was out front every lap and claimed another state championship! Way to go Vallen. Big sister McKenzie Tupper has been on fire as of lately. McKenzie raced in the 10 novice class and did not let those boys bother her. McKenzie had a great showing and came home with a 3rd! Anais Hill had great rounds of qualifying, but had a little mechanical problems in the final, but still did awesome with her 3rd place finish. Great job Anais, it's yours next year! Courtney Schumann did great all day in the ultra tuff girl class, but just came up a little short. Courtney will be back to battle all takers next year! Way to go to all of the Texas Young Guns Ladies! Now onto the dudes! Newcomer Dillon Schumann sporing his new Young Guns gear had an impressive run. He was in the mix all afternoon and came home with a great 5th place finish. Ashtoon Kroon fought hard in the tough 9X class and bumped elbows with all of the riders and pulled off a 5th place finish. Kevin McGouran finally kept his bike up! Kevin made his mains and came up with a 6th place finish. Good job Kevin! Tyler Young had semi's in 10 I. Tyler was in the mix all day, but they only take four out of semi's and they all virtually crossed together, but Tyler just was a hair short. Don't worry, this just makes him stronger! Logan Parry did awesome in 9X, but a little short kept him out. Keep training hard Logan, your time will be here soon. Marc McArthur had a impressive showing, pulling of a 3rd in cruiser and a 6th in class in the crazy 11 year old group. Zach Renka was lighting them up in 14 cruiser and had a great 3rd place finish! Lil brother Josh fought hard all day. Just did not have enough track to make that last move. This is another rider that is getting faster everyday! He will be back. These next riders must of taken a dose of the sunshine, because they were just as HOT!! Coach Randy Young made himself look just what his last name says! He didn't look like any 41 year old man out there. He showed the team why he is the coach and lit up his competition and took home a 1st and a State 1 plate! Dusty Oliver, and I say the only one in his class on flats, lead wire to wire each round in his novice class and took home a 1st. Nice job Dusty. Josh Berliner was possessed. He never was in second all day on either bike against some fierce competition. Josh took 1st on both class and cruiser and took home the plates. A - Pro Jordan Johnson was a beast. They mixed the A - Pros with the AA - Pros and Jordan was there all day. He got pushed around in the main a little bit, but still pulled a very impressive 7th place finish. You made all of us proud!! This team started earlier this year as a little spark, then moved to a flame, now we hold the torch with the fire and everyone is taking notice. The Texas Young Guns WON the team sheet with a 179!! I'm very proud of ALL of the riders and we are getting stronger! CONFIDENCE is the key and will make everyone winners. See you all on the track soon! Archived Race Reports | RosterAshton Kroon
